Congratulations to the SJD Men's Hockey team who triumphed in the National Plate Finals.  The team won first place - and the silverware  - after a gruelling finals competition held in Bedford in December.

Both matches went to penalities with the SJD team holding their nerve to take the title.  The final was a hectic game to say the least!!  A poor startfrom SJD saw them 3 -1 down in the first half,  however the SJD fighting spirit came out and all was not lost as a flury of goals from Mike Samball and Kieran Berrington made the score 5-4 with three minutes to go.  With 30 seconds to go Mike managed to equalise 5-5.  So we had to go to penalties.....the opposition lost their nerve and hit the first ball wide...SJD hit the target on all 5 occasions taking the title!!  The winning team were;
